What's a hackathon?

Hackathons are usually 24-36 hours only coding events. There are theme-based ones and themeless ones. QuasiHacks is a themeless one. You have the freedom to choose the problem you want to solve and which industries your solution applies to. Theme-based ones either have one sole theme (ex. Business) or can focus on the intersection of two categories (ex. Health and Technology). The problem you choose to solve and your solution should be within the domain of the theme.

Regardless of theme, the general idea is that you collaborate with peers to develop something creative that addresses a big problem. For in-person hackathons, there are activities and workshops to keep you engaged. Since QuasiHacks is fully virtual, we only have online workshops.

In the end, after initial judging, finalists move on to present live to judges. Then, winners are announced and prizes are awarded.
